When the Conscious Mind Stops Interrupting

Neuroscientists at the University of Leeds found that intuitive decision-making draws on accumulated experience stored below conscious awareness. This process allows the brain to make rapid, accurate judgments without overthinking. In other words, intuition is your subconscious analyzing patterns before your conscious mind catches up.

Release the Old, Welcome the New

This link is why I’ve worked with Malminder Gill over the years, an internationally acclaimed hypnotherapist I met in London. Her work helps people release the old and welcome the new. The process taught me to stop outthinking my own intuition and start listening to it. She’s helped me let my conscious mind meet my subconscious and listen to what it already knows, instead of trying to outthink it.

Intuition is central to her work. “When I allow it, we hit the jackpot.” But she also shared that people block their own progress without realizing it. They “beat themselves up and tell themselves nothing works.” The result is tension that prevents them from “taking anything in.” But in hypnosis, the prefrontal cortex is occupied with relaxation or neutral thoughts. This state allows the deeper mind to receive what it usually blocks. “The body relaxes, and the mind stops interrupting.

Intuition Is a Spiritual Process

When we discussed why people stay stuck, Malminder said it usually comes down to a recurring theme noted throughout my life and this book—fear. Fear creates the tightness that keeps the logical mind in control.

But intuition isn’t just a mental process; it’s a spiritual one. It’s the way God directs you when logic has reached its limit. That pull in your chest is information. You don’t need the full plan to move; you only need the next step.
